Rethink Your Furniture Placement: Highlight the flow of your rooms by arranging furniture to guide buyers from one room to another. You don't want to make the room look small and cluttered for the potential buyers.

Be Clean

Cleanliness is everything. Do a thorough cleaning right down to the nitpicky detials like wiping down light switches and covers. Deep clean and deoderize carpets and window coverings. It takes buyers, on average, 8 Seconds to form a first opinion of your house. With all fives senses working at once it’s not long so you need to make it count.

  • Sight: Rid your front door area of shoes, coats, backpacks, etc;
  • Smell: Mop the floors or bake homemade chocolate chip cookies for that “Welcome Home” scent to come to life.
  • Touch: Make sure the temperature of your house is ideal. If its cold outside, ensure the buyers are stepping into a nice, warm and cozy home. (Likewise with summer temperatures. No one likes a hot and stuffy home.
  • Taste: Have the homemade cookies on a platter for the buyers to eat while they discuss what they liked about your home.
  • Sound: Have some light music playing in the background.
